              Birds

For many years we have been breeding birds. The hobby started when we were both in primary school with a small collection of budgies, weeros, canaries and other more common pet birds. Since then, our bird collection has grown and flourished. We now have over 70 parrots in our many aviaries, not incluiding the ground dwelling species.

Our Parrots

We keep Alexandrine Parrots, Australian King Parrots, Eclectus Parrots, Budgies, Cockatiels, Crimson Wing Parrots, Hooded Parrots, King Quail, Japanese Quail, Musk Lorikeets, Princess Parrots (Blue, Green), Mostache, Rainbow Lorikeets (Lutino, Grey Green, Normal), Red Collared Lorikeets,  Scaley Breasted Lorikeets (Normal, Grey Green, Dilute Splits), Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, Sun Conures and more ...

Parrot Care

We have put together a Parrot Care Sheet  which contains a lot of useful information you may need. As always, be sure to contact us with any queries at all.

Our Rescue

We have recently taken in an eclectus hen who was mistreated in the past. She has been self plucked quite badly. Parrots are very intelligent they need lots of stimulation. This poor girl had been in a small cage with one perch, no attention and just seed. Eclectus are very big fruit eaters. Since she has been here she has started to grow some feathers back, and we hope she will make a full recovery one day. She loves her daily fruit and branches, she also relishes the interactions with other birds within the large aviary, and has even started talking. We often hear "Hello Darling" coming from the aviary, and have since called her Darling.

When we first got her in 2007
Several weeks later you can spot new feathers emerging
through her chest in this picture. She also has new feathers
on her wings, tail and back. On her way to a full being able to fly again.
